High visibility cataloguing: job titles

I’ve got another guest post over at High Visibility Cataloguing this week, this time on cataloguer job titles. As background for my lightning talk at the CIG conference in September, I’ve been trying to research the cataloguing landscape in terms of our job titles (whether they include the word ‘cataloguer’ or not) and how they may have changed over time. I’d feel fairly safe hypothesising that there are fewer dedicated in-house cataloguers today than there were 25 years ago, but can we prove it? And what’s going on behind the superficial numbers?  Time for some crowdsourcing, I think.  So if you are, or have ever been, a cataloguer, or you do cataloguing as any part of your job, please get over to HVCats and leave a comment, or tweet @archelina or @hvcats. Thanks!
